What’s in a Name?
People often ask about our name, KOSE.
The inspiration for KOSE (pronounced KOHZ) is taken from the Norwegian word koselig. Koselig can be described in many ways, the feeling of connectedness, a sense of appreciation, or the extra thoughtfulness in a relationship. For example, in Norway, people use the long cold winter as an opportunity to build stronger relationships with those closest to them. We love this idea of turning a perceived negative into a positive.
So how do we bring the idea of koselig to life?
The digital world is constantly changing, it can be a confusing and overwhelming place to navigate. Data and numbers can often be “cold”, meaningless, and hard to understand. We are here to provide some warmth to this data by giving it meaning. We also connect ideas and build relationships by helping guide our clients through the changing digital landscape and creating marketing platforms that drive their long-term growth.
We pride ourselves on that extra level of thoughtfulness.
“Anyone can serve up a cup of coffee. Adding the touch of a saucer and garnishing it with a small cookie makes that cup of coffee something special. That’s the kind of thing we want to show in our work,” says Nicole Newville, KOSE President. “We want to be that extra level of thoughtfulness. We work with our clients to be a breath of fresh air providing insights that a typical agency might not. We know the devil is in the details and give even the smallest or most mundane task an extra level of care.”
We are curious. We listen. We provide a different point of view.
Our team is intensely curious. Questions are encouraged because they lead to dialogue, learning, and innovation. This is who we are at our core, problem solvers who can look at things from a different angle and offer up a unique point of view. With different points of view our clients can see various options and make better decisions, which in turn means better results.
Relationships. They are at the center of everything.
KOSE is a seamless, committed member of our client’s team. We are data driven, but we don’t just provide the numbers. As a part of the team, we interpret what those numbers mean by offering insightful, actionable, and sometimes surprising results. But client relationships are only the beginning. We also partner with big tech. When platform updates create challenges, we collaborate with the Googles of the world, offering solutions that will make their product better. It’s a win for them, and a win for our clients.
That’s it. That’s what KOSE means and that’s who we are: thoughtful, curious, and relationship driven. If that strikes a chord with you, we’d love to connect.
